Axio (Special Works) Ltd always maintain a professional approach to every job we complete. We know that on major projects things may alter as the construction progresses and we work to build the best working relationship possible with every client and their teams, to make sure every part of the build meets their specifications. We have processes in place to ensure that our whole team from office staff to site management is kept up to date with all the relevant details for each project.
Our approach to every job will include the following:
Delays are sometimes unavoidable but we always strive to meet agreed deadlines for all areas of every project. In the event of delays which are caused by a variation in the specification or because we have been asked to do something extra, we will do all we can to keep the project on target. If we need to, we will work with the client to reschedule parts of the project so everyone has a satisfactory conclusion.
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is paramount and we take this very seriously. We are full members of Constructionline, the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHSG) and the Construction Health & Safety Group (CHAS). We always retain the services of an acknowledged Health & Safety consultant for each project and they are on hand at all times to advise us on all aspects of Health and Safety, including any part of a project which is notifiable under CDM regulations. It is thanks to our Health and Safety policy that we are able to work with clients who have a zero accident policy (reportable or 3-day).
We employ local labour, the majority of whom have worked for us right from the start. Some of our team even worked for our Managing Director for many years before the formation of Axio (Special Works) Ltd. Our commitment to our multi-disciplined and highly trained workforce helps us to provide the best service to all our clients. It also helps us if we need to specialise in fast track or out of hours working.
We understand the importance of retaining and investing in our workforce and provide all our employees with good working conditions and practices. Our approach to equality and diversity to our own employees, our work colleagues, clients, their employees and to members of the public is open, compliant and in accordance with best practice.
We own our own fleet of transport and goods vehicles. This gives us an advantage when working on site as it can minimise any delays which may be caused by external delivery companies.
All senior employees of Axio (Special Works) Ltd have both NVQ2 Construction Operations and CSCS Certificates.
We understand the impact that every project may have on the environment. Wherever we can, we put measures in place to reduce noise, dust and pollution. This is not only for the benefit of our operatives, but also reduces the impact our work has on any clients who are still in occupation while we are working and the neighbours in the immediate locality.
We aim to minimise material wastage by sorting, reusing or recycling as much as possible.
Any project relies on good communication between us and our clients. We always work hard to resolve any problems as they arrive to meet an amicable solution for all parties involved. We keep in constant contact to maintain a good working relationship, and this helps us respond to any problems or complaints quickly and efficiently. The experience of our site managers means they can build and maintain good working relationships at all levels, and this is one of our many strengths when working on any construction project.
Throughout every project we maintain a high level of supervision and quality control. This is carried out at both Contracts Management and Site Management level. We also complete our own inspection prior to handover, so that we can rectify any issues before inspections by the Contract Administrator at Practical Completion. This means we can ensure a satisfactory completion occurs as soon as practically possible.
Design and Build Service
We are able to offer a complete design and build service where a traditional contract is not in the best interest of the client. We have worked with our professional team for many years and have experience in achieving cost effective design and value engineered construction solutions. This method of contract procurement is becoming very popular amongst certain sectors, particularly where there are risks in the building process or where accurate cost forecasting is of paramount importance.
