Company Information

We are full members of Constructionline, the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHSG) and the Construction Health & Safety Group (CHAS). We retain the services of an acknowledged Health & Safety consultant. Health & Safety is paramount in all our activities.

In all our activities, we look to develop an on-going working relationship with all our Clients and their Professional Teams based upon trust and to complete projects in a safe workmanlike manner meeting or exceeding the quality requirements of the specification, on time and within budget.

We enjoy the benefit of being a contractor with a team of disciplined and highly trained directly employed operatives. We also own our own fleet of transport and goods vehicles that we consider offer us an advantage in our site operations. Our multi-disciplined and versatile workforce enable us to specialise in fast track, out of hours working and to provide a quality, responsive and personal service to clients. All senior employees have both NVQ2 Construction Operations and CSCS Certificates.

We always maintain site progress to suit agreed programmes and in the event of delays due either as a result of variations or additional works, we always endeavour to act in a proactive manner to seek the opportunity of reprogramming and/or acceleration where possible to comply with the Client's requirements.

Our office and site management staff are very experienced and offer a professional service with a strong emphasis on health and safety, quality control, programme and customer satisfaction together with an objective of developing on-going relationships with clients and professional teams alike.

We employ local labour, the majority of employees having worked for Axio since its formation and previously for many years for our managing director. We aim to be a fair employer capable of retaining its workforce by the provision of good working conditions and practices. We believe that our approach to equality and diversity to our own employees, our work colleagues, clients, their employees and to members of the public is open, compliant and in accordance with best practice.

We also recognise the importance of environmental issues and implement measures to reduce noise, dust and pollution wherever possible, both to reduce possible exposure to our own operatives but also to reduce nuisance to our clients where they remain in occupation of the premises and to their neighbours.

Close liaison and dialogue with the client helps us to avoid problems but we do recognise that on very rare occasions, things do go wrong and we need to respond to complaints effectively and efficiently in order to maintain a good working relationships. Our site managers are able to build and maintain good working relationships and we consider this to be one of our many strengths.

We do work with clients and organisations that do adopt a policy of zero accidents (reportable or 3-day). We believe that we have been able to respond to these challenges and our record can demonstrate that we are able to deliver a safe project. We retain the services of an experienced and qualified Health & Safety Consultant who is on hand at all times to advise us on all safety issues including a full brief where a particular scheme is notifiable under CDM Regulations.

Our policy throughout the execution of all of our works is to maintain a high level of supervision and quality control at both Contracts Management and Site Management level and to carry out our own pre-handover inspection with a rectification process prior to any inspections by the Contract Administrator at Practical Completion to ensure that satisfactory completion is achieved at the earliest possible date.

We are also able to offer a complete design and build service where clients decide that a traditional contract is not in their best interests. Our professional team have been known to us and worked with us for many years. This means of contract procurement is becoming very popular amongst certain sectors where there are particular risks in the building process and/or where finite cost forecasting is paramount.
